About
Golf in Morayshire
Morayshire offers quality links golf in one of Scotland's most scenic coastal regions. Moray Golf Club at Lossiemouth features two courses - the Old Course, a classic links established in 1889, and the New Course offering a different challenge. The Old Course has hosted Scottish Amateur Championships and remains a favourite among links purists.
The coastline running from Lossiemouth to Buckie and beyond features several courses that make the most of the natural duneland terrain. This stretch of coast is known for its long sandy beaches and relatively dry climate.
The Moray Firth creates a microclimate that is notably drier than Scotland's west coast, with courses playable year-round. The terrain is traditional links - undulating fairways, firm turf, and the ever-present challenge of coastal winds. Summer months offer the best conditions, but the quality of the turf and drainage mean enjoyable golf is possible in most seasons.
