Golf courses in Northumberland

Northumberland offers some of England's most spectacular and least crowded golf. The coastline from Alnmouth to Berwick features a string of quality links courses with views across to the Farne Islands and Holy Island. Bamburgh Castle Golf Club enjoys perhaps the most dramatic setting of any English course, with the medieval castle rising above the links.

Goswick, Dunstanburgh Castle, and Alnmouth provide further links options along this beautiful stretch of coast. The area remains refreshingly uncrowded compared to more famous English links destinations.

The terrain is classic links along the coast - duneland, firm turf, and ever-present sea breezes - while inland courses offer parkland golf with views of the Cheviot Hills. Northumberland has a bracing climate, but the coastal courses drain well and are playable year-round.
